6PM (EST). APRIL 3rd 2021.

Theatre Tour of Quito, Ecuador
PRODUCED BY FRANCIS TANGLAO AGUAS and MADISON HAUSER
ASSISTANT PRODUCER: MARGOT FLANDERS
Journey To God’s Face is a virtual theatre experience that interweaves stories and experiences from Quito Eterno’s repertoire of staged monologues and theatricalized visits of cultural heritage sites of Quito. The interactive experience allows viewers to encounter first hand the lived realities of the characters of Quito’s history and with scenes from plays written and produced by Quito Eterno. Through their show, the performers facilitate a space for reflection about mestizaje (mestizo identity), the whitening of cultural identity and cultural syncretism.

Quito Eterno is a foundation, related to the Ministry of Culture of Ecuador. For 18 years, the organization has worked in culture, heritage and comunitary organization.
The organization was created as a project to connect the historical center of Quito, its spaces and history, with the new generations that inhabit the city.
Since then, our organization has developed experiences and skills in cultural mediation, becomming a reference for this work in Ecuador.
Our foundation is also a completely independent and sustainable organization, which has marked a milestone in cultural organizations from the country.
